vector in illustrator CS5. I used the pen tool, eyedrop for the first colors (strayed from them eventually), a gradient for the sky and some brushes which I then outlined ^^ piece is 100% done by me click click of the mouse. It will be a VERY large print for my class :la: cutout filter photo and original photo for references.

I intentionally changed her face to something I liked more. Why? Because it's only a stock image and I wanted to make it my own. :p

As someone who has done some vector drawings in the past all I can say is how amazing this is. This must have been a lot of work; I really wonder how many hours you spend on this. When I first saw this I said "no way the background was drawn by hand" and yet it seems you did. I think the background is perfect, the girl on the front is very good too but I would like to have seen a smother transition in the skin, some of the lines are very hard and so is the contrast between some of the planes. Also I think its a shame that the girl is so close to the edge. Still great impact, impressive technique and nice to see a vector drawing that combines a nice character and environment.

It's not the most photo-realistic vector drawing I've seen (I'm sure that wasn't your goal anyway) but its definitely one of the most impressive ones.
